Thanks for visiting Dil the Dog, my dog walking and homestay website.
My name is Jude Hopkins and I am excited to have recently started this dog walking and homestay business. I live in a modern smallholding in Glascoed, Monmouthshire. Dogs have been a big part of my life since receiving a rescue dog for Christmas at the age of 7. Over the years I have provided dog walking services for friends and also have looked after their dogs whilst they have been away on holiday.
I studied Rural Estate Management at the Royal Agricultural College and worked as a surveyor for over 15 years. In 1999 I wanted a different challenge and began renovating properties. I had resigned from my job and so funds were minimal and therefore carried out all of the work myself including bricklaying, plastering, tiling and then decorating. Since then I have continued to renovate my own homes to very high standards. My latest project involved the total redevelopment and refurbishment of my home and garden. The property is a totally modernised smallholding within 2 acres, where I grow my own fruit and vegetables.
Around my work at the smallholding, I take my 2 dogs running/walking. I am in the fortunate position to be able to spend all day with my dogs. I understand that many dog owners need to spend a large part of the day away from their pets and therefore I have started Dil the Dog walking and homestay, a professional, reliable and trustworthy service, to help give your dogs exercise and fun whilst you are away from them.
I have completed a Canine First Aid Course which has given me a knowledge of issues that I may be faced with and how to deal with them.
I am registered with Monmouthshire County Council.
